External Blind Spur Gear Broaching

“Hey John Gardner this is John at OE, We finally got around to using your your spur gear carbide cutters that you engineered for us and I wanna let you know they were perfect. Just thought I’d call you to give you that feedback. I know it’s been a long couple months since you made these spur gear inserts. But we finally got around to the project and you know how the wheels the government turns slow. So anyway they worked out great. Haas VF-6 Automatic Tool Changing Process

Client: I’ve used both the 36 teeth spline tooling and the .474” keyway tooling. We encountered an issue with our Haas VF-6 automatic tool changing process.  It has nothing to do with your tooling (which worked exactly as advertised, thanks!). But, I have found that the slop between our arbor and spindle drive keys means that we can see up to 1 degree of orientation change during the automatic tool changing process. This leads us to currently have to re-check and adjust our M19 R value each time the tool is reloaded, to ensure it is properly oriented parallel to the

Broaching Internal Splines on CNC Mill

A client reached out to us for help on Broaching Internal Splines on their CNC Mill. “Thanks again for all of your help organizing our custom broach tool for our spline work.  We received everything the other day and have it installed in the machine and ready to go.  I have a question about programming this specific project.  I’ve read through the website and paperwork that we received but can’t seem to find this specific topic addressed.  In the examples discussing this for a mill, there is only one instance of broach work being illustrated – for example, one instance

Anthony Machine Speed Feed Testimonial

Thank you Anthony Machine for the testimonial! “Good morning John,  Thought I give you a little feedback on the tool we discussed last week, now that we are in the stage of learning tool life. We started out at F250. With 0.0008”/pass and immediately learned, the machine feeds at a max of 144IPM. So we are actually rapiding through the cut to achieve more than 250IPM. 50% rapid is 196IPM and going to slow possibly being worse, decided to rapid at 100% at 392 IPM (As this won’t affect cycle time on retracts and positioning) No cutting parameter prevented ripples

Indexable CNC Point Broach Cutter Special Grinds

CNC Broach Tools specializes in off the shelf indexable CNC point broach cutter inserts. But, we also specialize in catering to our clients! Not all of our inserts can fit the needs of every application. Which is why we take the time to make sure our point broach cutter inserts are correct for you. Bore size, length of cut, and keyway widths vary from application to application. Some applications call for a standard 1/4″ keyway but require a longer length of cut than our T14L tool provides or a deeper depth radially than our standard N14 indexable CNC point broach

Keyseat Cutters for Blind Keyway

CNC Keyseat Broaching Duotec Testimonial CNC Broach Tool Keyseat Cutters do not go past 5/8 in width tolerance. When Dan Harvey from Duotec Tool in Maple Grove, MN had a 1” wide key slot to cut. We told him that we could not provide broach tooling for his keyway application. Our T58L broach tool could fit his bore, and get his 7” Length of Stroke. We did not offer tooling for the broached key seat width dimension of 1”. I asked Dan what the depth of his application was and he told me again that it was 7”. I explained

Blind Keyway Broaching Monel Interrupted Cut

Blind Broaching Monel Thank you Karl for your testimonial on blind keyway broaching monel interrupted cut! We recently ran up against a tough lot of Monel sockets requiring slotting six places through a helix. The material was far harder than usual, and our usual rotary broach couldn’t handle it. Because the run was short, we couldn’t spend a lot on tooling. The CNC Broach Tool Company tool cut the nasty stuff beautifully, even though the interrupts, and got the job done with less burring and deformation. Even managed to salvage the part that the old broach broke down on. Good job!

Blind Keyway Broaching for CNC Lathe

Monty Twingstrom Testimonial Thank you Monty Twingstrom for your testimonial on blind keyway broaching for your CNC Lathe! We currently implemented a broach tool from CNC Broach Tool Company, it was a broach application that was not a through hole which required us to look into farming out this application. With implementing the CNC Broach Tool Company tool we were able to not only keep this operation in-house, we were able to combine it to the lathe operation and also because of that we were able to add the drill and tap cross holes to make it complete in one
